Wei Huailiang

A koala clings to a drainpipe; a lemur scales rusted iron; a giraffe peers from a window in the concrete. In his most celebrated series — named a Work of the Year by China Painting & Calligraphy News in 2012 — Wei sets the wild adrift in the modern city, and asks the question that belongs to us all: what home are we leaving for the living?
